The formative inspiration for the building design came from Claude Monet's "Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe" (1865). This painting depicts an elegant yet refreshing excursion into nature. The work's interplay between light and shadow conveys the atmosphere of a quiet alcove.

To reproduce the quality of the painting, the building shell emulates a tree canopy over a forest clearing, with variable transparencies. The permeability of the facade creates distinctive views and light play on the interior. This facade connects to the surrounding landscape rather than creating distance from it, transporting the quality of changinging seasons to the interior.

The form of the building structure is gently ordered in regards to urban environment in the industrial environment and radiates not solitute but autonomy. The simple cube geometry as stable and clear system orders the building to clear and positive to its inner individuality. The core of the building is on every level variable. It orders, resizes and zones the rooms as is required.

The building shell is a link between function and environment through the modern materiality with the industrial origin. With a white finish, lasered steel plates reflect the exterior and create inside a comfortable, yet always changing atmosphere.

In the interior, white exposed concrete establishes a simple and timeless elegance. The floor is of a dark polished terrazzo while dark leather and natural plants complement the solid oak used, building a grounded, distinguished atmosphere throughout the space. The simplicity and purity of the materials allow the focus to remain on the motifs of rest, relaxation and pleasure.
