Project Description
The ERS-Quierschied maintains a cafeteria kitchen with daily offerings which is located on the same level as the inner courtyard. Through generous, room height glazing and the lunchtime activity, the inner courtyard is revitalized as an useful space for the school. Through the demolition of various wall elements, the interior goes from a series of dark hallway to a light, welcoming open space situtation. The new foyer becomes a pleasant space for the entrance to the school.
Over the course of the facade design, the old facade was completely removed. The new facade is constructed from a wood frame construction with aluminum windows and clad with ventilated cement composite plates.
